I subscribed to a CMMi mailing list in September, and have generally ignored it since (due largely to Hotmail’s inability to munch Subject lines in it’s filtering). I’m going to try and process the ~ 1300 messages that have backup up. Things of interest will be recorded.

Dr Samuel Keene gave a seminar for HP employees recently (slides here). I was starting the final release push on a product so missed it live, but I finally got around to watching the recording. He is impressively titled including a Six Sigma Senior Master Black Belt, past President of the IEEE Reliability Society. While a lot of the stuff I knew already, the best part was his repeated statement that the Quality of the software produced has a direct relationship to the maturity of the process behind it; something I firmly believe in. Now I have someone to quote on that which has a name in the industry.
